It's been awhile ....

It's been almost a full year since I've posted on this blog - and I apologize.  I also apologize that I did not get a chance to mail any Christmas cards this year :( 

It has been a pretty busy year!  Sara started high school and is still in travel soccer.  Kelly is in her last year of middle school and is very involved playing her saxophone.  She'll be trying out for All District Band next month.  Jake started playing soccer last season and will try again in the spring.  Little Olivia has started swimming lessons and is crazy as ever!

I'll try to do a better job with posting to this blog with picture updates.  I usually post a lot of pictures on Facebook.  If you want to friend me to see more pics - my Facebook name is Lisa Shackelford Witt.

Snowchi? 2/13/2014

Yes ... that's right ... Snowchi.  That's what the local weather people are calling this snow storm that swept through our area last night and today.  I guess they figure since it's a record snow storm during the Olympics in Sochi, they have the right to call it Snowchi.  Silly really.

Anyway ... yes, we got A LOT of snow.  And as of right now (6:20 p.m.) - it's still snowing.

Brian and I are tired from shoveling today.  No snowblower, so we took turns shoveling the 15+ inches in our driveway and sidewalks.  Unfortunately, we'll have to do some more tomorrow since it's still snowing.  Our backs are starting to feel a little stiff.  I guess we're not 20 anymore :-/

Daycare was closed today, so the little ones have been stir-crazy at home.  Up since 5:30 a.m. and still going strong.  We took them out for a little bit.  I don't think they quite understand how big this storm is ... nor do they care ;)  They had fun throwing snow at their Daddy.  We're hoping daycare is open tomorrow so they can have fun with their friends - and exchanging their Valentines!

Fingers crossed this is the last snow storm of the winter.  We are ready for some sunshine with warmer temperatures!

All That Jazz :)

Kelly is a part of the Eagle Ridge Middle School Jazz Band :)  Last night, they played their first concert.  You can really tell a difference from Year 1 Band ... and Year 2!

Happy 4th Birthday, Jake!

Today our little man turns 4 years old!  This morning, Jake, Olivia, and some of Jake's friends from school went to the local moon bounce place and celebrated Jake's birthday.  Olivia pretty much did NOT want to join in the fun and clung to daddy's leg for most of the party, but Jake and his friends had a blast.

He got some pretty cool toys and had a lot of fun with his friends.

After dinner, we celebrated with cake and candles.  Jake is officially a BIG boy :)
